In 2025, Southern Cancer Center established “LuAnn’s Light Patient Assistance Fund” to honor the memory and remarkable impact of beloved, long-time employee LuAnn Anderson Stevens.

To know LuAnn was to experience her warmth and kindness firsthand. She never met a stranger and always paused to share a smile and a comforting hug. For 22 years, she devoted herself to our patients, first as a familiar face at the front desk and later as a front office coordinator, tirelessly securing assistance for those in need.

LuAnn’s unwavering dedication to ensure others felt seen and loved made her a true treasure to our practice. Even after a brief retirement, she returned to continue her mission of compassion. LuAnn was a vibrant spirit and will forever be a part of our Southern Cancer Center family.

Beyond her career, LuAnn was a devoted wife and mother, and a devout Christian, always prioritizing others above herself. Her favorite word was JOY—a sentiment she spread to all she knew. Her personal joy in life centered around her family, especially her grandchildren, and her faith and community.
